著名艺术家阿里·巴尼萨德尔与艾米·卡特勒11月即将在贝浩登上海空间分别举办于中国的首次个人展览。在展览揭幕之际，Artnet中文新闻网主编范筱苑将对两人的创作进行梳理，而视觉记忆的调用作为画家创作必不可少的意识活动，将是此次论坛的讨论核心。

In November, renowned artists Ali Banisadr and Amy Cutler will hold their first solo exhibitions in China at Perrotin Shanghai. On the occasion of the exhibition’s opening, Cathy Fan, the Editor-in-Chief for Artnet News China, will sort out their art practice and developments. The deployment of visual memories, as an essential consciousness activity of painters' creation, will be the core discussion of the forum.

阿里·巴尼萨德尔1976年生于伊朗德黑兰，目前工作生活于美国纽约布鲁克林。巴尼萨德尔12岁之前与家人住在伊朗德黑兰，成长于伊朗革命和两伊战争期间的他经历了各种嘈杂的景象（如学校操场上的炸弹坑），这些对他的感官基础产生了深刻的影响，并引发了“联觉”的产生，使他能够将视觉形式感知为声音，与他的审美构成彼此共鸣，反之亦然。为了更好地理解自己的感官体验，巴尼萨德尔在大学选择了心理学专业。他后来加入了美国湾区的涂鸦社群并开始探索艺术创作。随后，他前往纽约攻读艺术学位，分别于2005年和2007年获得纽约视觉艺术学院的艺术学士学位和纽约艺术学院的艺术硕士学位。

Ali Banisadr was born in 1976 in Tehran, Iran; now lives and works in Brooklyn, New York, USA. Banisadr lived with his family in Tehran, Iran until the age of 12. Growing up during the Iranian Revolution and the Iran-Iraq War, Banisadr experienced sounds and sights (such as a bomb crater in his schoolyard) that had a lasting impact on his sensory foundations—events that had particular resonance on his aesthetic formation, given his experience of synaesthesia, in which he perceives visual forms as sounds, and vice-versa. Although Banisadr studied psychology in college as a means of better understanding his own sensory experience, he later became involved in the Bay Area graffiti scene before attending art school in New York, receiving his BFA from the School of Visual Arts in 2005, and his MFA from the New York Academy of Art in 2007.

艾米·卡特勒生于1974年，目前生活工作于纽约布鲁克林。她于1997年获得纽约库珀联盟艺术学院的美术学士学位。卡特勒以其复杂细腻的纸本绘画和黑铅素描而闻名，作品中常描绘女性、动物和复杂的混种生物体，并将角色置于极富神秘感的场景中。艺术家铺陈蕴含叙事的画面，将潜在的情感、对社会现象的洞察以及个人的记忆具体化，构建出了一个层次丰富而微妙的视觉隐喻的世界。

Amy Cutler was born in 1974, now lives and works in Brooklyn, New York. She received her BFA from The Cooper Union School of Art in 1997. Amy Cutler creates intricate paintings on paper and detailed graphite drawings of women, animals, and hybrid beings engaged in enigmatic situations. These narrative works give form to latent feelings, societal observations, and personal memories, building a complex, layered world of visual metaphors.
