DUMONTEIL Contemporary (巴黎) 荣幸呈现比利时艺术家巴西莱·布恩 (Basile BOON) 在画廊的首次个展“别样神话”(Just Another Myth) 。

DUMONTEIL Contemporary Paris is pleased to present Just Another Myth, the first solo exhibition of Basile Boon with the gallery.
The exhibition offers an immersive journey where each piece seems to have emerged from an imaginary civilization. Through frescoes and sculpted objects, Basile Boon invites viewers to embark on a bold exploration of fragments of forgotten histories and symbols drawn from dreams and fantasies. The atmosphere evokes a world in constant reconstruction, where ancient references intersect with mythological figures like Cybeles, Dionysus, and Diana, in an ordered and poetic chaos.
The upper section of the exhibition, rich in detail and movement, reflects this creative effervescence, a sensory agitation that sweeps the observer into a visual and spiritual tumult. In the lower section, the artist shifts the tone, inviting a quieter, more meditative experience. His sacred objects impose a deep serenity, a quest for transcendence. Here, the artifacts appear to come from a lost civilization, objects collected from another world and presented to be contemplated in the present moment. This passage invites the viewer to an inner connection, almost sacred, with the artwork.

After studying theater and architecture, he initially turned to craftsmanship, experimenting with various mediums.An eclectic creator, Boon integrates practices as diverse as leatherwork, ceramics, and theatrical performance. His work, often described as cathartic, unearths emotions and questions rooted in his childhood. However, it transcends personal narrative, merging mythology, archaeology, and religion with elements of his own experiences. The result is a three-dimensional epic—a tapestry of stories from ancient civilizations reinterpreted through his unique perspective.His creative approach is rooted in introspection and interaction, both with physical spaces and viewers. In this way, he establishes a dialogue between the past and the contemporary, reinterpreting myths while addressing present-day realities.Through his monumental works and more intimate creations, Basile Boon invites us to discover a universe where ceramics becomes a language in its own right, capable of telling stories, questioning space, and opening dialogues between the past, present, and imagination.His work has been presented in various exhibitions, including solo exhibition at Dumonteil Contemporary (2024), Paris and a collaboration with gallerist Juliette Seydoux (2024), and group exhibitions at Dumonteil in Paris (2024), the Patinoire Royale, Brussels (2023).
