FOREWARD
“游·园”取自于《牡丹亭》中的《游园》一折,汤显祖借杜丽娘游园之景作爱恋之想象,虚幻与现实微妙交织。“游·园”既有昆曲意蕴,也具备中国古代画论“澄怀味象,卧以游之”的美学意义。在此基础上,“游”与“园”的创作意涵进一步拓展,产生了新的指向:“游”是创作者的心灵驰骋与情感投射,在心境澄明中取法于自然,化外物为己意。“园”既可作为一个真实空间出现,又是一种精神上的主观创造。

Tang Xianzu used the scene of Du Liniang's garden visiting as an image of love, blending fantasy and reality. “Garden Visiting” not only has the meaning of kunqu opera, but also has the aesthetic significance of“Cheng Huai Wei Xiang, lie down to tour” in ancient Chinese painting theory. On this basis, the creative meaning of“Visiting” and“Garden” is further expanded, which has a new direction: “Visiting” is the creator's spiritual gallop and emotional projection, taking the method from nature in the state of mind clarification, turn things into your own. “Garden” not only appears as a real space, but also is a kind of subjective creation in spirit.

Mi Xiaoxi likes kunqu opera. The water-grinding tone and the low-brow smiling posture brought her great artistic excitement, and this kind of emotional projection also became the source of creative inspiration. In the recent series of works, Mi Xiaoxi expresses her life perception and emotional feeling through“Peach”. She does not stick to the true form of“Peach”, but from the perspective of“I”, give“Peach” diversified symbolic meaning and spiritual sustenance. For her, creation is a kind of subjective pleasure, is the collision and release of emotion and thought. The different colors in the picture are adjusted and tried repeatedly to form a flexible effect of mutual penetration and shading on the surface of the paper. The repeated superimposition of images adds a delicate feeling of the screen, the translucent effect of the precise grasp of the color is more transparent, showing a sense of flow. Although Mi Xiaoxi's works are full of feminine softness and delicacy, she does not purposely cut into the creation from the female angle, but conforms to the inner emotional flow, and relies on the instinct to express the intention of creation. In her view, the creation should not be too much external definition and constraints, but should follow the inner freedom and purity. Because of this, the composition of the work both full of tension, but also empty space, filled with rhythm and breathing sense.

As a contemporary artist, MI Xiaoxi's works not only inherit the traditional meaning of Chinese painting, but also seek breakthrough and innovation on this basis. Artistic creation is both her profound dialogue with history and her way of re-viewing the world. Fragrance in the pool, Such as the flower, Flying drunk and other works of peach, misty rain and other concrete symbols of poetic expression to build a true and illusory art garden, it is the reconstruction of traditional culture and the new presentation of contemporary landscape. At this point, “Garden Visiting” is not only the extension of the image of “Garden Visiting” in the kunqu opera The Peony Pavilion, but also a profound response to the spirit of ancient Chinese painting theory, as well as an expression and reconstruction of the spiritual world of individual artists. In the picture created by Mi Xiaoxi, traditional culture and contemporary art are interwoven, rational thinking and enthusiastic imagination go hand in hand, and finally build an artistic paradise bearing poetic, emotional and cultural echoes.
