■Chris Burden’s preparatory drawings for constructing Nomadic Folly (2001).

《Nomadic Folly》（2001）最初是Burden为第7届伊斯坦布尔双年展所创作。当时身在加利福尼亚的Burden，抵达土耳其时只带着关于《Nomadic Folly》的草图与初步方案，作品全部搭建工作则在伊斯坦布尔托普卡帕皇宫（Topkapi Palace）内建于18世纪的皇家铸币厂庭院中进行。Burden在深厚的中东文化中汲取灵感，于当地市集搜寻材料，打造出这件被他本人称作“An oasis of Beauty（美之绿洲）”的作品，为当时身处动荡的世界提供了一处难得的喘息与慰藉。
