刘广云,1962年出生于济南,1987年毕业于中央工艺美术学院,现工作生活于上海和德国美茵兹。

Liu Guangyun was born in Jinan in 1962. He graduated from the Central Academy of Arts and Crafts in 1987. Currently, he works and lives in Shanghai and Mainz, Germany.

艺术家:《原本色》这个系列是对有色布料及老旧布料的现有色调进行反复性的褪色处理,尽量恢复其底料本色,无论这些色彩来自于时间的侵蚀还是人为的印染。这是对物质本来面貌的一种还原企图,这个回头路的过程结果是展现出一种新旧莫名,本末难辨的物质现状,也无可避免地揭露出许多意料之外的层次,变异,以及物质与时间互动后的过程关联,我是想说,许多事物即便是最彻底的恢复也无法还原真实的本来就像我们回不到自己的过去,时间也在这个过程中变得没头没尾。

The "Original Color" series involves repeatedly fading the existing tones of colored and old fabrics, attempting to restore them as much as possible to the original color of the base material, regardless of whether these colors are the result of the erosion of time or artificial dyeing and printing. This is an attempt to restore the original appearance of the materials. The outcome of this process of going back in time is to present a material state where it is difficult to distinguish between the old and the new, and to tell the primary from the secondary. Inevitably, it also reveals many unexpected layers, mutations, and the process-related connections that result from the interaction between materials and time. What I want to convey is that even with the most thorough restoration, many things cannot be brought back to their true original state, just as we can never return to our own past, and time seems to have no beginning or end in this process.

艺术家:艺术家和社会的关系从来就不是艺术家居高临下对社会的旁观,而是他们原本就身在其中。对于价值的认识有集体主义和个人主义两种趋向,由此延伸出来的各种形式的作品泾渭分明又纠缠不清。虽然相对于博伊斯人人都是艺术家这种社会指向明确的观念,我更喜欢基彭伯格说的每个艺术家都是一个人这句话,因为他不再把艺术家看成某种意识形态的随从。但在一个价值观极度分裂的世界上,无论你身处何种位置,个人意识都会被某种文化环境所浸染,所以参与社会的主体并没有绝对的个体,看待世界的观点也没有绝对的客观。在作品中使用褪色技术实际上就是对社会赋予人与物质在象征意义上某种根深蒂固的确定性的一种解放。

The relationship between artists and society has never been that artists look down upon and passively observe society from a superior position. Instead, they are inherently part of it. There are two tendencies in the understanding of values: collectivism and individualism. Various forms of works derived from these two tendencies are clearly distinguishable yet intricately intertwined.Although compared with Joseph Beuys' concept of "Everyone is an artist," which has a clear social orientation, I prefer Martin Kippenberger's statement, "Every artist is an individual." Because he no longer regarded artists as followers of a certain ideology.However, in a world where values are extremely fragmented, regardless of one's position, personal consciousness will be influenced by a certain cultural environment. Therefore, there is no absolute individual among the subjects participating in society, and there is no absolutely objective perspective on the world either. The use of the fading technique in artworks is actually a liberation of the deeply ingrained certainty that society has bestowed upon people and objects in a symbolic sense.

出入艺术问:最后您对宁波的藏家有什么想说的?

  

艺术家:对于藏家来说,如果动机是投资赚钱,就听艺术顾问的,什么升值潜力大就买什么,这是一门学科,和你懂不懂艺术,作品好不好没有多大关系。如果想收藏艺术还是听从自己内心的好,找能触动你个体经验与私人情感的作品,由此藏家与艺术家和作品之间就产生了某种共鸣和联系,这是一种缘分。这样的作品除了辗转于展场和卖场以外它和藏家和艺术家之间还有一种牵挂关系,这种关系不仅是感官上的,还是精神上的,也可能是思想上的。

For collectors, if their motivation is to make money through investment, they should listen to their art advisors and buy whatever has great potential for appreciation. This is a discipline, and it has little to do with whether you understand art or whether the works are of high quality. If you want to collect art, it's better to follow your own heart and find works that can touch your personal experiences and private emotions. In this way, a certain resonance and connection will be established among the collectors, the artists, and the works, which is a kind of fate. In addition to being shown in exhibition venues and sold in the market, such works also have a relationship of concern between the collectors and the artists. This relationship is not only sensory but also spiritual, and may even be intellectual.
