阳新(1982,中国),独立学者、鉴藏专家,专注于古代造像艺术研究,活跃于学术、艺术与文物领域。阳新以其深厚的学术背景和独特的艺术视角,将中国传统雕塑艺术的精神内核融入当代创作,形成了古朴、沉静且充满时间厚重感的艺术风格。
阳新的雕塑作品以“汲古为今”为核心,既传承了中国古代雕塑艺术的精髓,又赋予其当代审美的表达。采用古人常用的石料与传统雕刻技法,通过有温度的双手,将冰冷的石头转化为充满生命力的艺术品。阳新试图从宇宙的视角重新探究中国文化中人与自然“天人合一”的哲学思辨,以纯粹的美感重视生命个体平静、善良、包容的美好。
“空衣”系列通过雕刻汉白玉外衣,呈现云雾般的空灵质感,表达“空为内核”的哲学理念。“永远”系列以石块堆砌的塔形结构,象征时间的叠加与文明的延绵,顶部自然形态的石头寓意生命归于自然的永恒法则。“星球”系列则以岩石雕刻的星球形态,隐喻人类在宇宙中的渺小与伟大,探讨人与宇宙的依存关系。阳新从石窟、神庙等文明遗迹中汲取灵感,结合东方哲学与宇宙观,以石材和玉材为载体,创造出既具象又超越具象的艺术语言,表达对永恒、自然与人类文明的深刻思考。
阳新的作品与研究成果在学术界与艺术界均获得高度认可。其专著《梵物志》被誉为古代造像艺术研究的重要文献,也曾多次受邀参与关于中国古代造像艺术的学术活动,包括中国美术学院、中央美术学院及龙门石窟研究院。其作品曾在山西云冈美术馆 (2024)、上海宝龙艺术中心(2023)、南京芥墨艺术馆(2022)等进行展出。
Yang Xin (1982, China) is an independent scholar and specialist in the field of ancient sculpture art, active in the fields of academia, art and cultural heritage. With his solid academic background and unique artistic perspective, Yang Xin integrates the spiritual core of traditional Chinese sculpture art into his contemporary creations, forming an artistic style that is solemn, serene and imbued with the sense of time.
“To make the past serve the present” is the core of Yang’s art. While inheriting the essence of ancient Chinese sculpture art, he endows it with a contemporary aesthetic expression. He adopts the stone and carving techniques commonly used by the ancients, and transforms the cold stone into a work of art full of vitality through his warm hands. Yang attempts to re-investigate the philosophical discourse of “harmony between humanity and nature” in Chinese culture from the perspective of the universe, and re-examines the beauty of calmness, gentleness, and inclusiveness of individual life with a pure sense of aesthetics.
The “Empty Clothes” series expresses the philosophical concept of “empty as the core” by carving the white marble coat and presenting an airy and hazy texture. The “Eternity” series features a tower structure made of stones, symbolizing the superposition of time and the continuation of civilization, while the natural shape of the stones on the top symbolizes the eternal law of life returning to nature. The “Planet” series, using the shape of planets carved from rocks, is a metaphor for the insignificance and greatness of human beings in the universe, exploring the relationship between human beings and the universe. Yang draws inspiration from civilization relics such as grottoes and temples, combines Eastern philosophy and cosmology, and uses stone and jade as carriers to create an artistic language that is both figurative and transcends the figurative, to express an insightful reflection on eternity, nature and human civilization.
Yang’s works are highly recognized in both the academic and art worlds. His monograph Brahma Objects (梵物志, Fan Wu Zhi) is considered a significant literature for the study of ancient sculpture art. He has been invited to numerous academic activities on ancient Chinese statuary art, including the China Academy of Art, the Central Academy of Fine Arts, and the Longmen Grottoes Research Institute. His works have been exhibited in Yungang Art Museum, Shanxi, China (2024), Powerlong Art Center, Shanghai, China (2023), and Jiemo Art Museum, Nanjing, China (2022).
