《无垠·德国当代艺术展》以“无垠”为主题,这一概念本质上彰显了艺术开放、流动、自由的无界限愿景。当德国抽象艺术所秉持的“形式自律”跨越地理界限,与东方文化中“意象生成”的美学传统相遇,便在解构与重构之间催生出全新的认知。抽象绘画的色彩逻辑为意象艺术提供了更具分析性的形式工具,而东方哲学对“象外之象”的不懈追求,则为西方抽象艺术注入了超越形式本体的精神维度。
"Boundless: Contemporary Art from Germany" explores the theme of “boundlessness”—a concept that reflects the inherent openness, fluidity, and limitless vision of art. When the “autonomy of form” central to German abstract art transcends geographical borders and engages with the Eastern aesthetic tradition of “mental imagery generation,” a new form of understanding emerges through processes of deconstruction and reconstruction. The chromatic logic of abstract painting offers imagery art a more analytical and formal vocabulary. In turn, Eastern philosophy’s enduring pursuit of the “image beyond the image” imbues Western abstraction with a spiritual dimension beyond the limits of form.

白盒子:跨文化的同构实践
The exhibition venue is the White Cube in Beijing’s 798 Art District, a site that itself serves as a culturally charged semiotic space. Originally established as a key industrial complex with Soviet support and designed by East German architects, the 798 Art District carries the collective memory of socialist industrialization in its architecture. This layered historical backdrop offers a unique interpretive lens to experience the abstract visual language of artists from West Germany. When the industrial textures of weathered steel sculptures echo the architectural fabric of the former factory buildings, the material’s temporality acquires dual significance. It becomes both a site of reflection for German artists grappling with the legacy of industrial civilization and a point of resonance for Chinese viewers re-engaging with the visual and emotional memory of their modernization.
德国当代抽象绘画的创作逻辑,植根于20世纪初包豪斯学派所奠定的形式革命。当德国现代主义建筑奠基人沃尔特·格罗皮乌斯提出“艺术与技术的新统一”时,实际上已经为抽象艺术剥离再现功能、建构独立语言体系埋下了理论伏笔。此次参展的德国艺术家绘画作品,延续了康定斯基在《论艺术的精神》中所阐释的“内在需要”原则:色彩不再依附于物象,而是成为了一种通感符号。
