直线是理性的牢笼，也是温柔的专制。它用最简洁的语言和精确的刻度构筑了关于世界的框架：阶梯的断面、建筑的轮廓、城市的网格...... 每一条硬边不断复述这个既定的事实；当高度转化为可攀附的秩序，我们似乎征服了垂直的节奏。在前进、停顿、倒退的切换中，却早已被隐秘的准则规训，被预设的节奏丈量，仿佛自由不过是规则精心设计的馈赠。
混凝土的折线在空间中凝固：映射着冷漠的现实，又囚禁着狂热的想象。在林莹宣的作品中，秩序被赋予了新的震颤：它即将遭遇一场色彩的暴动。高饱和的荧光色划破理性的沉寂；蓝色地毯将垂直的疆域淹没成“深海”——我们既被锐利的警示色刺痛，又被幽蓝的潮汐托举。当阶梯褪去冰冷的确定性，感官便被赋予随机且任意的余地。平面与线条恰好构建着未被规训的微妙失衡，在预先设定好的框架中指涉“我”的身体之于规范的冲撞。
即使是最严谨的几何与色块，也藏有柔软的溃散之处。越是纯粹，就越暴露其本质：我们不得不承认自己似乎被一种温柔的专制所蛊惑。泡泡糖的甜腻以一种看不见的轻盈在阶梯间游荡，与钢筋混凝土的严肃对峙让甜味成了温柔的悖论：它既是禁锢中的幻觉，又是破土而出的喘息。当绝对规则开始自我缠绕，所有紧绷的秩序，终将在自身的褶皱里找到叛逃的路径。
在重组与拆解中，一切可见的元素试图建构当下被忽略的感知。当浮华被剥离，剩下的究竟是冰冷的真理，还是真理的幻影？林莹宣的作品像一面棱镜，将这个问题折射成无数可能。游弋于熟悉与陌生的交界、冷静与躁动的缝隙，“对抗”在此消融为共生的韵律：或许万物潜藏的“纯粹真理”不在形式的尽头，而在凝视的途中；不在秩序铸就的完美牢笼里，而在那未被驯服的、微微颤动的失衡之中。

林莹宣
青年艺术家
1997年生于台湾省台中市，现就读于中央美术学院，艺术学博士，研究方向：当代艺术创作与研究。2024年毕业于台湾省国立清华大学艺术与设计学系，创作主轴以直线硬边、绘画装置；媒材以亚克力颜料、石膏打底剂、纸胶带、刮板进行创作。对于我来说跳出现有的框架，才能更靠近自身的理想。在每一次的创作里，将色彩的观察实践在画布上，重复的线条、色块，互补色的碰撞。互补色虽说会造成视觉的冲突感，但在巧妙的颜色配置下，形成和谐且利落的绘画风格。

刘云西子

刘云西子，写作者、研究员。2017年毕业于天津外国语大学意大利语专业，2022年获得中央美术学院艺术史硕士学位，视觉文化研究方向。现于山中天艺术中心从事展览研究工作，研究方向关注当代女性主义艺术、当代艺术中的身体在场研究、当代全球化背景下的殖民主义和后殖民主义问题。近期策展项目包括：「旁观」-- 陈镜宇个展，瀚艺术空间，北京（2024）；「流动的本能」-- 三个单元计划，TCCA 红顶当代艺术中心，厦门（2024）；「无处遁逃」-- StairCASE青年艺术家个人项目#1，山中天艺术中心，北京（2025）。

The straight line is a cage of rationality, yet also a tender tyranny. With its concise language and precise measurements, it constructs the framework of our world: the cross-section of stairs, the silhouettes of architecture, the grids of cities... Each hard edge reiterates this entrenched truth; when height is reduced to climbable order, we seem to have conquered the vertical rhythm. Yet in the shifts between ascent, pause, and retreat, we are already disciplined by hidden rules, measured by predetermined cadences—as though freedom were but rule's most cunning benediction.
Concrete's angular folds solidify in space: reflecting a cold reality while imprisoning fervent imagination. In Lin Ying-Hsuan's work, order is imbued with a new tremor—it is about to meet a chromatic revolt. High-saturation fluorescent colors slash through the silence of rationality; blue carpets drown the vertical domain into an "abyss"—we are both pierced by the stinging warning colors, and buoyed by the dark blue tide. When staircases shed their icy certainty, the senses are granted random and arbitrary leeway. The configuration of planes and lines produces a delicately subversive disequilibrium, operating within institutionalized frameworks to reinterpret the embodied subject's frictional engagement with normative structures.
Even the most rigid geometries and color blocks conceal soft points of dissolution. The purer they appear, the more they betray their nature: we must admit we are seduced by a kind of gentle authoritarianism. The cloying sweetness of bubblegum drifts weightlessly through the stairwell with invisible levity, its confrontation with the austerity of reinforced concrete transforming this sweetness into a tender paradox—both an illusion of confinement and a gasp of emergence. When absolute rules begin to coil upon themselves, even the tightest order will, within its own creases, find paths of rebellion.
Through reassembly and deconstruction, every visible element seeks to reconstruct neglected perceptions. When ostentation is stripped away, what remains—cold truth, or truth's phantom? Lin Ying-Hsuan's works act as a prism, refracting this question into infinite possibilities. Wandering the border between familiarity and estrangement, dwelling in the fissures between calm and agitation, what we call "conflict" dissolves here into symbiotic rhythm: perhaps the "pure truth" latent in all things resides not at form's terminus, but in the act of gazing; not within the perfect cages of order, but in the untamed, quivering imbalance.

Ying-Hsuan Lin
Young Artist
Born in Taichung, Taiwan in 1997, Lin Ying-Hsuan is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Art at the Central Academy of Fine Arts in Beijing, specializing in contemporary art creation and research. He graduated from the Department of Art and Design at National Tsing Hua University in 2024. His artistic practice revolves around hard-edged straight lines and painting installations, employing materials such as acrylic paint, gesso primer, washi tape, and scrapers.
For Lin, breaking free from existing frameworks is essential to approaching his artistic ideals. In each creation, he translates his observations of color onto the canvas through repetitive lines, geometric blocks, and the dynamic interplay of complementary hues. While complementary colors inherently generate visual tension, his meticulous color arrangements forge a harmonious yet crisp painting style. Through disciplined repetition and bold contrasts, he constructs a visual language that balances rigor with expressive clarity.

Freya Liu is a Writer and Researcher. Graduated from Tianjin Foreign Studies University with a major in Italian in 2017, obtained a master's degree in Art History from the Central Academy of Fine Arts in 2022, specializing in Visual Culture Studies. Currently engaged in exhibition research at Wind H Art Center. Research focuses on contemporary feminist art, corporeal presence in contemporary art, and issues of colonialism/postcolonialism within globalized contemporary art contexts. Recent curatorial projects include: Outsider-- Chen Jingyu solo exhibition, Horizon Art Space, Beijing (2024); Flowing Instinct -- Three Unit Plan, TOPRED Center for Contemporary Art, Xiamen (2024); StairCASE Young Artists' Personal Project#1 No Escape, Wind H Art Center, Beijing (2025).

Her writings have been published in journals and anthologies such as Painting Magazine, Contemporary Artists, Wenhui Daily, History of New Painting, and the 2021 Chengdu Biennale Collection. Her essay Photography as Naturalism: Peter Henry Emerson and Visual Problems in the Second Half of the Nineteenth Century won the Minsheng Art History Paper Scholarship and was archived in the Minsheng Art Paper Archive. She has published a monograph, Defending the New Art History (2016) and The Humility of Art History (2025). As a curator, she has organized exhibitions including Themyscira: Wang Jin Solo Exhibition, Superfluous Things, and Time·Durée. In 2016, she founded LART Art Institution, serving as the producer of the live course Visual Shock: The Concepts and Language of Western Modern Art Painting and the radio programme Fan Jingzhong Talks about Western Art History.
