新氧艺O2art将于2025年11月07日推出艺术家陈督兮个展「欸乃」。

O2art is proud to present artist Chen Duxi’s solo exhibition, "RHYTHM OF YULOH," opening on November 7, 2025.

陈督兮始终秉持着以旁观者的角度去介入社会生活。为了保持对生活敏锐的感知，沉浸在自然之中，以一种接近微观的方式仔细地去观看植物、石头、昆虫。他可能会突然趴在草地上仔细观察树的根部、叶，他们的纹路、颜色、生长状态，甚至会通过触感和气味，感受不同的植物特质。关于绘画本体的原始表达，陈督兮是通过研究中国历代绘画中的演变逻辑，从不同的文明视角去佐证中国绘画的特殊性。沿着人类文明发展的长河，从上古聚落所产生的一些器物、雕刻、图文等，或是史前动植物化石标本，他慢慢发现越高古的东西越质朴，离真理越近，越能给人带来精神的超越感。陈督兮意识到这是一个围绕着生命起源的命题，虽然无法得到确切的答案，但不代表这不能被想象、被觉知。这些共性经验可能隐藏在我们每个人的身体内，身体自身的编码可能跟生命起源的答案是一体的。吾身本就圆满具足，可自性得见何其难。所以人生就是一笔一笔画出来，铺就成一条小径，认知也是一点一滴的在变化。

Chen Duxi always maintains the perspective of an observer when intervening in social life. To maintain a sharp perception of life and immerse himself in nature, he examines plants, stones, and insects from a microscopic perspective. He might suddenly lie on the grass to closely study the roots and leaves of trees—their textures, colors, and states of growth—even using touch and scent to perceive the distinctive qualities of different plants. In exploring the fundamental expression of painting itself, Chen Duxi investigates the evolutionary logic within Chinese painting across dynasties, examining the uniqueness of Chinese art from the perspectives of different civilizations. Tracing the long course of human civilization, from artifacts, carvings, and patterns produced by ancient settlements to prehistoric animal and plant fossil specimens, he gradually discovered that the more ancient something is, the simpler and unadorned it becomes, the closer it is to truth, and the more it evokes a sense of spiritual transcendence. Chen Duxi realizes that this is a proposition centered on the origin of life. Although a definitive answer may be unattainable, it does not mean it cannot be imagined or perceived. These shared experiences may lie hidden within each of us, as the encoding of our bodies might be one with the answer to the origin of life. Our beings are inherently complete and self-sufficient, yet realizing this inherent nature is profoundly difficult. Thus, life is painted stroke by stroke, paving a path, while understanding evolves bit by bit.

回望“艺术家”这一身份，在陈督兮这里，它从不是创造奇观的职业，而更像一种古老的仪式：他是巫者，也是信使和译者。

他将不可见的风，译作竹影的摇曳；将不可闻的地脉脉动，译作石头的纹理；将不可名状的时间流逝，译作水波的褶皱。他工作室中那些贝壳、种子与石头，便是他与自然“对证”的词汇表。

他的创作，是一场持续的召唤——唤醒物与物、物与时之间，沉睡已久的共鸣。

Looking back at the notion of the "artist," for Chen Duxi it has never been a profession of spectacle-making, but rather an ancient ritual. He is a shaman, a messenger, and an interpreter.

He translates the invisible wind into the sway of bamboo shadows; the inaudible pulse of the earth's veins into the grain of stone; the unnameable passage of time into the ripples and folds upon water. The shells, seeds, and stones scattered throughout his studio form a lexicon through which he cross-examines and communes with nature.

His practice is a continuous invocation—awakening the long-slumbering resonance between things, and between things and time.

Chen Duxi, born in Chengdu in 1983, graduated from the Chengdu Academy of Fine Arts, Sichuan Conservatory of Music in 2006, and currently lives and works in Beijing. 周颖，作为中国当代艺术领域最早的推广者、实践者与管理者之一，被业内誉为“幕后推手”“野史故事会”。自上世纪九十年代初加入北京红门画廊以来，深耕当代艺术三十余年，兼具艺术项目协调人、艺术家经纪人、艺术产业经营者、公共艺术策划人、美术馆国际项目顾问及收藏顾问等多重角色，长期致力于艺术展览的策划、推广与研究工作。

2002年，周颖成为北京798艺术区最早的入驻机构创办者和园区开拓者之一；2013年，作为核心主创与艺术总监，参与创立首届ART021上海廿一当代艺术博览会，并持续担任博览会创始艺术总监及执行委员会成员。她还担任保时捷中国青年艺术家提名奖召集人及执行策展人，积极推动青年艺术力量的发展。

疫情期间，周颖将贝氏艺讯（The Baer Faxt）引入亚洲收藏圈，并与合作伙伴共同创立贝氏艺讯亚洲资讯平台，负责其《亚洲周刊》内容策划与会员服务。

Zhou Ying is widely recognized as a pioneering figure in Chinese contemporary art and a key driving force behind its development. Since joining Beijing’s Red Gate Gallery in the early 1990s, she has dedicated over three decades to the field, working as a curator, agent, arts entrepreneur, and advisor.

A founding organizer of Beijing’s 798 Art District (2002) and a core initiator of the inaugural ART021 Shanghai Contemporary Art Fair (2013), Zhou continues to serve as its Founding Art Director and Executive Committee Member. She has also convened and curated the Porsche China Young Artist Award, supporting a new generation of artists.

During the pandemic, Zhou co-founded The Baer Faxt Asia, introducing the global art intelligence platform to regional collectors and overseeing its Asia Weekly editorial content and membership programs.

新氧艺O2art成立于2011年，早期以策划不固定空间的展览项目形式存在，长期代理并运营年轻艺术家的当代艺术机构。2018年，在北京顺义创办新的O2art艺术空间，2022年迁至798艺术区。画廊深耕当代艺术领域，在多元化的艺术风格中，寻找与陪伴具研究精神的创作者。我们的理念是通过展览呈现与职业跟随，推出优秀的中国艺术家个案。未来将保持专业与开放，成为融合国际沟通的艺术资源平台，以研究、呈现、参与，成为中国当代艺术生态中不可或缺的成员。

O2art was established in 2011. Initially operating as a project-based exhibition space, it has long been intricately involved in championing and fostering young contemporary artists. In 2018, we opened a new space in Shunyi, Beijing, and moved to the 798 Art District in 2022. The gallery has been deeply involved in the contemporary art field, seeking and accompanying artists with a research-driven spirit across diverse artistic styles. Our philosophy is to present exhibitions and support the professional development of artists, introducing outstanding Chinese artists to the art world. Moving forward, we aim to maintain professionalism and openness, becoming a platform that bridges international communication and art resources. Through research, presentation, and participation, we strive to become an indispensable part of the Chinese contemporary art ecosystem.
