时间，不仅是一条线性的河流，更是一种能量的流动。它塑造影像，也被影像折返、重构。由萃舍云集当代艺术收藏中心主办，朱朱担任学术主持的展览“时间流——大卫·克拉耶博和周滔”，以两位国际重要艺术家的影像实践为核心，通过时间的流逝与循环，展开关于现实、意识与图像生成的深层探讨。

本次艺术家讲座特别邀请两位艺术家亲临现场，分享他们各自的创作方法、观念与作品背后的思考。大卫·克拉耶博以影像技术与历史图像为媒介，探究人类感知与时间的复杂关系；周滔则对社会空间与自然生态敏锐观察，以广泛的实景拍摄与思辨性的后期再创作见长；两位艺术家以不同的文化语境和影像语言，交织出一场关于“时间”与“意识”的双重对话。

Time is not merely a linear river, but a flowing current of energy. It shapes the image, even as it is reshaped and reconstructed by the image itself. Organized by The Cloud Collection and academically directed by Zhu Zhu, the exhibition Flow of Time — David Claerbout and Zhou Tao centers on the moving-image practices of two internationally significant artists. Through the passage and recurrence of time, it unfolds a profound exploration of reality, consciousness, and the generative nature of images.

This artist talk invites both artists to join us in person to share their creative processes, conceptual approaches, and the ideas that shape their works. David Claerbout employs image technologies and archival footage to explore the intricate relations between human perception and temporality; Zhou Tao, with his keen observation of social spaces and natural ecologies, works through extensive on-site filming and reflective post-production to construct new temporal narratives. From distinct cultural and aesthetic contexts, the two artists weave a dual dialogue on time and consciousness, opening up new dimensions of seeing and thinking through the moving image.

We invite you to enter the Flow of Time — to listen to the resonance of thought and poetry that moves beneath the surface of images.

大卫·克拉耶博（David Claerbout）1969 年出生于比利时科特赖克。他曾就读于安特卫普国家美术学院和阿姆斯特丹国立视觉艺术学院，现于安特卫普和柏林工作与生活。

大卫·克拉耶博于2007年获得柏林艺术学院颁发的威尔·格罗曼奖（Will-Grohmann-Preis），2010年获得古特尔·佩尔基金会（Günther-Peill-Stiftung）颁发的古特尔·佩尔·普雷斯奖（Peill-Preis），并于2002年至2003年参加柏林DAAD艺术家计划。

大卫·克拉耶博最初接受过绘画上的训练，更以其在摄影、影像、数字技术和声音方面进行的创作而闻名。他的艺术实践围绕着瞬时性与持续性的概念、悬置于静止与运动间的张力中的影像、以及延展时间与记忆的体验。大卫·克拉耶博说自己“在持续时间中雕刻。持续时间的定义是不同于时间的：持续时间并非类似于时间的独立状态，而是一个中间状态。” 他擅于通过创造大型影像装置来使观众成为作品的一部分——无论是通过构建屏幕中投影影像与观者之间的联结，或是创造屏幕本身与展览空间之间的空间关系，又或单纯地任由“一个场景因观众的在场与一点点时间而发展为另一个场景”这一过程自然地发生。

David Claerbout was born in 1969 in Kortrijk, Belgium. He studied at the National Academy of Fine Arts in Antwerp and at the Rijksakademie of Visual Arts in Amsterdam. He lives and works in Antwerp and Berlin.

In 2007, David Claerbout was awarded the Will-Grohmann-Preis of the Berlin Akademie der Künste, and in 2010, he received the Peill-Preis of the Günther-Peill-Stiftung. He participated in the DAAD Artists-in-Berlin Program from 2002 to 2003.

Originally trained in painting and drawing, David Claerbout is known for his works using photography, video, digital technology and sound. His practice revolves around the concepts of temporality and duration, images suspended in a tension between stillness and movement, as well as the experience of dilated time and memory. David Claerbout says that he “sculpts in duration. The definition of duration is different from that of time: duration is not an independent state-like time, but an in-between state.” With his large-scale video-based installations, the artist makes the viewer a part of the work: whether by establishing a connection between the projected images on the screen and the audience, or by creating a spatial relationship between the screen itself and the exhibition space, or simply, by allowing a process by which “a single scene can develop into another by the presence of the spectator and a bit of time.”

周滔

Zhou Tao

周滔1976年出生于湖南长沙，于2001年获得广州美术学院油画专业学士学位，2006年获得混合媒介专业硕士学位。现生活、工作于广州。

周滔的获奖包括：“第46届真实电影节-Short Film Award 2024”，巴黎，2024；“FUGAS Feature Film Section - 评审团奖”，DocumentaMadrid，马德里，2018；第61届奥伯豪森国际短片电影节，评委会大奖首奖，2015；首届汉涅夫金斯基金会曼谷艺术及文化中心，当代亚洲艺术奖，2013。

周滔往往从他所遭遇的场所和人群中展开影像的叙事，对于个体与空间关系的探索一直是他创作的线索之一。尽管近年来周滔常常从全球不同城市的地理文化情境中汲取灵感，他所生活和居住的广东周边也从未远离他创作的视线。他善于从这些看似迥异的场景中寻觅共通和互动，所谓的影像方法，对周滔来说，无异于是身体的一部分，是皮肤与现实接触的一层触介，由此，周滔不构思营造剧本，从而让叙述脱离任何的理性框架和生产逻辑。周滔诗学般的影像叙述跨越了真实与虚构的界限，藉此从现实之重中突围而出，成为“贴近地面的飞行”。

Born in 1976 in Changsha, Hunan Province, Zhou Tao studied at the Guangzhou Academy of Fine Arts and received a bachelor of fine arts in oil painting in 2001 and a master of fine arts in mixed-media studies in 2006. Currently lives in Guangzhou.

He received the awards including “The 46th Cinéma du Réel International Film Festival-Short Film Award 2024”, “FUGAS Feature Film Section - Jury Award”, DocumentaMadrid in 2018, the 1st Prize of the Jury of the Ministry, 61st Oberhausen International Short Film Festival in 2015 and the 1st Han Nefkens Foundation BACC Award for Contemporary Art in Asia in 2013.

Zhou Tao finds visual and narrative materials for his arresting film works in the places and communities he encounters, and the narration of the film is often developed from the accumulation of the encountered moments. There is no single entry to the practice of Zhou Tao, through often subtle and humorous interactions with people, things, actions, locations and situations, Zhou’s videos invite us to experience the multiple trajectories of reality—what he once called the “folding scenario” or the “zone with folds.” Although all of his footage captures actual scenes, the poetics of Zhou’s visual narratives dissolve the division between fact and fiction. For him, the use of moving image is not a deliberate choice of artistic language or medium, instead the operation of the camera is a way of being that blends itself with everyday life.
