展览标题中的「普洛」二字，取自希腊神话人物“普洛透斯”。普洛透斯为海洋中的先知老人，他不断变幻自己的形态来躲避被追问的命运，唯有抓住其不变的原型才能获悉真理。歌德后将“普洛透斯”引申为自然界的根本隐喻——万物始终处于流动与转化之中，而“变化”本身，正是永恒不变的本质。

艺术家张军此次展出的作品，延续其“消音”系列的探索，通过植物茎叶的触角形变，将上述 “变化”刻画为一种弥漫着迷幻与浪漫色彩的危险景象。他笔下的植物如永恒的普洛透斯，从基础的几何原形出发，在一系列形变后生长为新的视觉形态。这些形态构建起丰富的“互文”关系——或彼此呼应或相互拮抗，交织影射着时代语境下人类共生共长的复杂图景，仿佛邀请观者进入一场“普洛透斯”式的生命体验：我们唯有涉入流动的生命之河，于万千的形态下触及共生的真理。

The title ‘Protean’ draws from the Greek mythological figure Proteus, a prophetic sea god who constantly shifts his form to evade fate. Only by holding fast to his essential being can one uncover the truth. Later, Goethe extended 'Proteus' as a fundamental metaphor for nature—where all things exist in a state of flux and transformation, and “change” itself is the eternal, unchanging essence.

In this exhibition, artist Jun Zhang continues his 'Stillness' series, capturing this very notion of 'change' through the tactile, morphing tendrils of plants—rendering it a vision both psychedelic and romantic, yet imbued with peril. The vegetation in his work resembles an eternal Proteus: starting from basic geometric origins, it undergoes a series of metamorphoses to grow into new visual forms. These forms construct a rich network of intertextuality—sometimes echoing, sometimes antagonistic—weaving together reflections on the complex, interdependent reality of human coexistence within our contemporary context. It is as if the viewer is invited into a Protean experience of life itself: only by stepping into the river of life in flux can we, beneath its myriad forms, touch the truth of our shared existence.

张军（b.1981), 生于河北，毕业于河北大学，现工作生活于北京。张军以冷静克制的色彩、拟真空环境与“绝对静止”的植物，构建出一个被“消音”的永恒静谧空间，将观者的注意力引向对自身内在时间的感知。在此，线性时间的框架逐渐消融，有关生命纬度的探索随之展开。

今年，他笔下的植物形态进一步突破了自然主义的范畴。这些形象并非是简单的对于物象的临摹，而是包含着艺术家个人情感的以基础几何为元素的新型视觉语言，以此隐喻时代语境下人类关系共生共长的复杂图景与生命经验的真实质地。

Jun Zhang(b.1981), was born in Hebei (Province). He graduated from Hebei University, currently lives and works in Beijing. Jun Zhang constructs an eternally tranquil space that seems to be 'muted', using calm and restrained colors, a simulated vacuum environment, and 'absolutely still' plants, directing viewers' attention to the perception of their own internal time. Here, the framework of linear time gradually dissolves, and an exploration into the dimensions of life begins to unfold.

This year, the plant forms in his work have further transcended the boundaries of naturalism. These images are not mere imitations of physical objects but represent anew visual language grounded in basic geometric elements, infused with the artist's personal emotions. Through this approach, he metaphorically depicts the complex interplay of symbiotic relationships among humans in the contemporary context and the authentic texture of life experiences.
