《山之北》摄于昆仑山冬天。冰雪皑皑、烤馕焦香、热腾腾的羊汤，红扑扑的脸庞，喧嚣的聚会.....这些天然的长镜头，在试图留住人与人、人与世界之间那些也许还没被完全打断的自然时间。将《山之北》加进萃舍云集“时间流”的展览，也许正好在今天技术社会中，重新寻找与他人相处、与世界相处的过程中，增添些许暖意。

“时间流——大卫克拉耶博和周滔”展览期间，我们将特别呈现周滔作品《山之北》，作为对“时间流”主题的深层回应。

在《山之北》中，周滔以近乎执拗的凝视，将自然时间重新归还给影像：那些围聚、迁徙、等候的片刻，不再是转瞬即逝的碎片，而成为人与土地之间绵延的呼吸。在技术加速撕裂感知的当下，走进《山之北》，便是走进一片时间的屏障：寒冷、迟缓，却始终涌动着未被打断的生机。

特别说明：《山之北》放映时间为2026.1.10-2.10（每周三、四、五、六 13:00-17:00），与《凡洞》轮流播放。请预约观展。

山之北

沿着沙漠、穿过戈壁、翻越山峦、绕行河谷后是一片绿地。在雪山的冰雪彻底覆盖地面之前，村民们寻回在山上散养一年的牛羊。在《山之北》中，周滔长时间地观察着“生命世界”的呈现，在这生命世界中发生的一切，几乎安静地顛覆掉原本生命与非生命的配置，这几乎是很少影像工作者会选择面对或有能力面对的“深处”：相处，等候，融入，弱我，忘我，才能生发出人与自然、人与影像相互依存关系的真实动作。

《山之北》的“山”，既是现实中存在的山，也是隐喻意义上的空间，首先潜在的起点是，我们都是在今时今日来重返山之北。北，寒冷，多水，时间迟缓。寻找山，也类似在寻找一种生机，寻找一种屏障，一种不可逾越，一种畏惧，一种不可征服；也期待由此中的寻找迁徙出“人”的时间困境。

North of the Mountain

Along the desert, after crossing the gobi, climbing mountains, then a detour via a river valley, there is a piece of green. Before the ice and snow on top of the snow mountains completely cover the ground, the villagers are searching to collect the cows and sheep whom they have been herding for a year. In North of the Mountain, Zhou Tao observed the appearances of the “World of life” in long hours, everything that happens in this world of life almost silently subverted the original settings for life and non-life, this is a “deepspace” that only very few filmmakers will choose to face or have the ability to face: be with, wait, blend in, become egoless, and finally to forget the ego, only then can there emerges the real activities of the co-dependent relationship between men and moving-images.

The “mountain” in North of the Mountain is a mountain that exists in reality, but also in a metaphorical space. First of all, the potential starting point is that we are all returning to the north of the mountain at this day, to look for a shield, a sort of insurmountability, fear, or unconquerability; and we also anticipate a route that will lead human out of the dilemmas of time through this search.

About the Artist

周滔1976年出生于湖南长沙，于2001年获得广州美术学院油画专业学士学位，2006年获得混合媒介专业硕士学位。现生活、工作于广州。

周滔的获奖包括：“第46届真实电影节-Short Film Award 2024”，巴黎，2024；“FUGAS Feature Film Section - 评审团奖”，DocumentaMadrid，马德里，2018；第61届奥伯豪森国际短片电影节，评委会大奖首奖，2015；首届汉涅夫金斯基金会曼谷艺术及文化中心，当代亚洲艺术奖，2013。

周滔往往从他所遭遇的场所和人群中展开影像的叙事，对于个体与空间关系的探索一直是他创作的线索之一。尽管近年来周滔常常从全球不同城市的地理文化情境中汲取灵感，他所生活和居住的广东周边也从未远离他创作的视线。他善于从这些看似迥异的场景中寻觅共通和互动，所谓的影像方法，对周滔来说，无异于是身体的一部分，是皮肤与现实接触的一层触介，由此，周滔不构思营造剧本，从而让叙述脱离任何的理性框架和生产逻辑。周滔诗学般的影像叙述跨越了真实与虚构的界限，藉此从现实之重中突围而出，成为“贴近地面的飞行”。

Born in 1976 in Changsha, Hunan Province, Zhou Tao studied at the Guangzhou Academy of Fine Arts and received a bachelor of fine arts in oil painting in 2001 and a master of fine arts in mixed-media studies in 2006. Currently lives in Guangzhou.

He received the awards including “The 46th Cinéma du Réel International Film Festival-Short Film Award 2024”, “FUGAS Feature Film Section - Jury Award”, DocumentaMadrid in 2018, the 1st Prize of the Jury of the Ministry, 61st Oberhausen International Short Film Festival in 2015 and the 1st Han Nefkens Foundation BACC Award for Contemporary Art in Asia in 2013.

Zhou Tao finds visual and narrative materials for his arresting film works in the places and communities he encounters, and the narration of the film is often developed from the accumulation of the encountered moments. There is no single entry to the practice of Zhou Tao, through often subtle and humorous interactions with people, things, actions, locations and situations, Zhou’s videos invite us to experience the multiple trajectories of reality—what he once called the “folding scenario” or the “zone with folds.” Although all of his footage captures actual scenes, the poetics of Zhou’s visual narratives dissolve the division between fact and fiction. For him, the use of moving image is not a deliberate choice of artistic language or medium, instead the operation of the camera is a way of being that blends itself with everyday life.
