亲爱的朋友们：

历经数月的空间改造，我们终于迎来了焕新后的第一次相见。

自2011年创立新氧艺 O2art以来，我们始终坚持以田野调查的方式发现艺术家，以长期研究建立判断，并与艺术家共同面对创作与发展。2026年，我们迈入新的阶段，并正式以 THE FIELD 旷野空间 的名字与大家重新见面。

很多朋友问我们：新名称从何而来？

THE FIELD 旷野空间并非一个突然出现的名字。2018年，顺义空间的首展名为《旷野之途》；2022年，798新空间启幕，我们再次以《旷野之途2022》作为开幕展主题。彼时，策展人借用《庄子·逍遥游》中“无边无际的旷野”这一意象，思考人与自然、自由与创造之间的关系。“旷野”，也由此成为我们持续思考与实践的精神之地。

事实上，这次更名并非重新开始，而是十五年来工作实践的一次自然延续。这也意味着我们更加明确自己的志向：持续走近艺术家，走进创作现场，以长期观察、研究与实践建立判断。Field，不仅意味着一处空间，更意味着一个持续发生创作、研究、交流与生长的场域。

THE FIELD 旷野空间

Dear Friends,

After several months of renovation, we are finally delighted to welcome you into our renewed space.

Since founding O2art in 2011, we have remained committed to discovering artists through field research, developing our perspectives through long-term study, and standing alongside artists throughout their creative and professional development. In 2026, we enter a new chapter and are pleased to reintroduce ourselves under a new name: THE FIELD.

Many friends have asked us: Where does the new name come from? 

THE FIELD is not a name that appeared overnight. In 2018, the inaugural exhibition of our Shunyi space was titled Journey into the Field. In 2022, when we opened our new space in Beijing’s 798 Art District, we once again chose Journey into the Field 2022 as the title of our opening exhibition. At that time, the curator drew upon the image of the “boundless wilderness” described in Zhuangzi to reflect on the relationships between humanity and nature, freedom and creation. Since then, the idea of the field has become the spiritual ground for our ongoing thinking and practice. 

In fact, this renaming is not a new beginning, but a natural continuation of fifteen years of practice. It also marks a clearer understanding of our commitment: to remain close to artists, to enter the site of artistic creation, and to build our judgment through sustained observation, research, and practice. For us, Field signifies not only a physical space, but also a site where artistic practice, research, dialogue, and growth continually unfold. 

Our heartfelt thanks go to every artist, collector, curator, writer, colleague, and friend who has supported and accompanied us throughout the years.
