本次展览以"洄游"为题——那是一种在熟悉水域中循环往复、有目的的徘徊。画中人物在水流的牵引下，身姿旋绕，轨迹重叠。她们似乎拥有行动的能力，却始终无法摆脱那股看不见的向心力；她们似在行进，实则是在原地消耗力量，与无处不在的阻力相互抗衡。

正如艺术家所言：“平静并不意味着顺从，柔软也可以包含爆发力。”这份爆发力，正隐匿于这看似徒劳的“洄游”之中——在不断的折返与迂回里，身体被迫重新感知呼吸的频率、骨骼的重量以及皮肤边缘模糊的界限。愿观者在那些被水纹切割、遮蔽的背影背后，辨认出这种“不确定的抗争”，并在层层叠压的笔触间，触碰到那份属于当代女性的、既疲惫又坚韧的生命质地。

冯蕤的创作始终围绕着“水”这一母题展开。她记录的不是溺水的瞬间，而是身体在洄游中重新确认自我的过程。水让动作变慢，让轮廓松动，也让面孔变得不再重要。画面中的人物常以背影或蜷曲的姿态出现，她们切断了与外界的直接对视，转而向内探寻。那些汲取自敦煌飞天、却又充满不确定性的水纹，在此刻成为了一种无形的束缚与动力，将当代女性身处规训之网却又试图舒展的复杂心境，凝固在这永恒的回旋之中。

The exhibition is titled MEANDER—a purposeful lingering within familiar waters, a cyclical path of return. Guided by the pull of currents, the figures twist and turn, their trajectories overlapping in endless circuits. They appear capable of movement, yet remain tethered to an invisible centripetal force; they seem to advance, yet expend their strength in place, locked in quiet resistance against omnipresent resistance.

As the artist observes, "Calm does not mean compliance; softness can contain explosive power." This power lies hidden within the seemingly futile act of meandering—within each turn and detour, the body is compelled to recalibrate its rhythm of breath, the weight of its bones, and the blurred boundaries of its skin. We invite viewers to look beyond the backs obscured and fragmented by ripples, to recognize this "uncertain resistance," and to touch, through layers of accumulated brushstrokes, the texture of a life that is both weary and resilient—a testament to the contemporary female experience.

Feng Rui’s practice revolves consistently around the motif of water. She does not document the moment of drowning, but rather the process of the body redefining itself through meandering. Water slows motion, loosens contours, and renders the face irrelevant. Her figures often appear as backs or curled forms, severing direct eye contact with the outside world to turn inward in search of self. The water ripples, inspired by the flowing ribbons of Dunhuang’s celestial Feitian, yet charged with uncertainty, become both invisible constraint and driving force. They crystallize the complex state of mind of contemporary women—caught within nets of discipline yet striving to unfold—suspended forever in this eternal gyre.
