On Sepetember 12th, 2026, Demigod’s Interstice - Zheng Zihao's Solo Exhibition opened at CYCLE SPACE in the 798 Art Zone, Beijing. Centered on the narrative arc of“escape from” to “arrival at” Alpha?City, the work marks a distinct shift in the artist’s recent practice. The dominant visual tone drifts from cool silvery?greys to blazing neon hues. Its narrative weighs both humanity’s identity predicaments and the wild escape of creatures. Theme, colour and narrative structure interplay across three dimensions, venturing into an interstice between fairy?tale memory and cybernetic perception to present viewers with a living space in constant self?generation.

If Escape from Alpha City was the beginning of a spiritual expedition—a verb, an instant, a dash out of icy order—then this new body of work presents a much quieter phase. The expeditionary has finally stepped into a territory, a spatial container suspended between fairy-tale memory and cybernetic perception. “Demigod” points to the blurred boundary between human and non-human in the animistic collective; “Interstice” is the field within the fissure, the interstitial layer at the border of the known and the unknown, the traversable passage in visual depth, and the suspended state that is the starting point of adventure in the fairy-tale forest yet never its end. Zheng Zihao regards his creative sequence as a continuous spiritual evolution, moving from dynamic flight to the naming and exploration of an inhabitable place.
